Ilmainen-sanakirja.com is a new free finnish dictionary. Our improved search functions set us apart from our competitors.

We improve our services actively and aim to be at least as good as our "competitors". The purpose of a dictionary, however, is to serve the users - not competition with other sites.

Administrators do not guarantee the correctness of the translations. If you encounter any errors, please report them using the feedback form.

Performing automated searches on the site is forbidden without permission. You can contact administrators if you wish to add the dictionary to your site.

How can I get involved?

Ilmainen-sanakirja.com expands constantly. We aim to improve the contents and word lists with our partners. We offer better development tools and an extended dictionary to our partners.

These partners are non-profits and various schools. This way we can guarantee the operation of a high-quality dictionary.

How can I add a missing word?

Log in with your account information (company number, unique username and password). Clicking "Add Translation" in Actions-menu allows you to easily add words or see incomplete or missing translations. You can also modify the search results by doing a search and using the action buttons next to the results.

How can I leave feedback?

Users search translations for words in different lines of business and in different languages. If you want to reach people skilled in languages (or learning them) who are interested in your line of business, consider advertising on the search pages.
